Project:
This animation depicts a common eastern firefly (Photinus pyralis) communicating via bioluminescence and taking flight. The common eastern firefly is an insect that I have spent many a summer night catching to observe their fascinating ability to illuminate their abdomen. For the eastern firefly, this ability is used to find a mate.
The purpose of this animation was to practice creating emissive materials with Redshift in lowlight environments. The model was sculpted in Zbrush, rigged in Cinema 4D, rendered with Redshift, and composited in After Effects.
